Ingredients:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Red pepper flakes for some heat
Instructions:
Prepare the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and chicken or vegetable broth. Set this sauce aside.
Cook the Shrimp: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
Cook the Broccoli: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil if needed. Toss in the broccoli florets and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they become bright green and slightly tender.
Combine and Sauce: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet with the broccoli. Pour the sauce you prepared earlier over the shrimp and broccoli. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to coat everything evenly. If you like a bit of heat, sprinkle some red pepper flakes over the mixture.
Season and Serve:
Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Once the shrimp are fully cooked, and the broccoli is tender-crisp, your Shrimp and Broccoli Stir Fry is ready to be served!
- Serve:
- Serve the stir fry over cooked rice or noodles, garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions, and enjoy your homemade Shrimp and Broccoli Stir Fry!
