HMISSE RECIPE
Hmiss or hmisse, An Algerian salad made from grilled bell peppers and tomatoes, tomatoes cleaned off their skins and browned in olive oil with garlic a very simple quick and above all things the starter.
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Servings: 4
INGREDIENTS:
- Two green peppers
- Two red bell peppers
- Two tomatoes
- Three cloves of Garlic
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- Chopped parsley
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Grilled peppers and tomatoes in the oven or on the barbecue.
- Remove from the oven and place the peppers and tomatoes in a bag (the skin will be easier to remove.)
- Remove the skin and seeds and let them drain in a colander.
- Heat the olive oil in a pan, brown the minced garlic at the tomato cut into small pieces. Leave on the heat for a few minutes stirring occasionally.
- Add peppers cut into small pieces, salt, and pepper. Leave the simmer for approximately 20 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Serve on the small plate, drizzled with chopped parsley.
