Fig Clafoutis
Fig Clafoutis is a classic French dessert, it is one of the easiest French desserts you can ever make, simply perfect for fig season. It is best served warm with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream
Wondering what to do with all those figs? I made the best fig clafoutis this week! I can’t stop eating it! There is always room for dessert! I think I might have to make a second one and freeze it for later. 😋
INGREDIENTS :
- 1/2 kilo fresh figs
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp melted butter
- 1/3 cup + 2 Tbsp flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup almond powder ( you can buy it or just grind blanch almonds
- 2 cups milk
- A piece of butter for the baking dish
Garnish
- 1/4 cup sliced raw almonds (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Carefully wash the Figs. Cut the stem and remove some skin if necessary. Then cut them in half.
- Prepare the clafoutis maker. Mix eggs, flour and sugar in a bowl.
- Blend well with a whisk, then add the milk.
- Butter the dish for easier removal later.
- Place whole or pitted cherries in a baking dish.
- Pour the batter over the cherries.
- Put in the oven for 35 minutes at 200°C.
- Let it cool before serving.
