FRENCH APPLE CAKE

 FRENCH APPLE CAKE



INGREDIENTS:

  • 150g (1 cup) plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 125 grams butter, at room temperature
  • 100 grams (1/2 cup) caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 60 ml ( 1/4 cup) milk
  • 3 golden apples, peeled and cut into cubes and pieces
  • Some sugar for dusting


PREPARATION:
  1. Preheat oven to 180C/160C fan forced. Grease a 21 cm springform pan and line the base with baking paper.
  2. Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Use electric beaters to beat the butter and sugar in a separate bowl until pale and creamy. Add the egg. one at a time, beating well after each addition. Bet in the vanilla.
  3. Fold the flour mixture and milk into the butter mixture, then fold through the apple. Transfer prepared pan and smooth the surface. Bake fo to 40 minutes or until a skewer inserted into thi centre of the cake comes out clean. Set aside in pan for 10 minutes, before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  4. Serve the cake dusted with icing sugar.
