Stuffed Green Cabbage


Servings: 8 persons  
Prep time: 30 minutes   
cooking time: 90 minutes 


Ingredients:
  • 1 fresh cabbage 
  • 500 g lean ground beef 
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic 
  • 1 egg 
  • 50 cl defatted meat broth chopped 
  • parsley 
  • salt pepper


Preparation:
  1. Boil salted water in a large saucepan.  Detail the leaves of the green cabbage and immerse them in the pan for 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, peel and chop the onion and garlicMix the ground beef with the onion, garlic, chopped parsley and then the egg until you get a stuffing quite homogeneous. Salt and pepper to taste.
  3. In another large pan, bring 1/2 litre of water to boil with 1 peeled onion, 1 carrot peeled and chopped, 1 stalk of celery, 1 medium potatoes, some pepper corn and salt. When it boils, leave in a medium heat
  4. Drain the cabbage leaves and cut the midrib of each leaf. Arrange the leaves in a work surface, place the stuffing in the centre of each leaf and folds the sides. Hold the stuffed cabbage with a piece of string as for paupiettes.
  5. Put the stuffed cabbage in the boiling pan with veggies, cover the pot. Let it boil in a medium to low heat for 1 hour.
  6. Serve the stuffed cabbage accompanied by boiled potatoes and carrots. Enjoy
